Why are we at Zd committed to sustainability?
Slow fashion is not only a method or a trend, but a way of thinking, of conceiving fashion from an ethical, conscious and respectful point of view towards the environment, workers and consumers.
Currently, clothing manufacturing industries generate more than 8% of the global impact and more than 20% of water waste. Moreover, at the global level, 80% of discarded fabrics go to landfill, only 20% of this percentage is reused or recycled. These clothes can remain for more than 200 years in decomposition and, in turn, emit methane, a greenhouse gas more harmful than carbon.
At Zd Zero Defects we do not ignore this situation. That’s why we are one of the few companies in the world to use soy yarn, a biodegradable fabric that is ideal for sensitive skin, in the manufacture of our intimate apparel. For more than 100 years, we have been creating handcrafted and sustainable products, as well as contributing to the economic and social development of our environment. We generate employment for people from our own town or from a very close environment, and we work with suppliers and companies also from the area. This makes it possible to work in a circular way with the lowest possible environmental impact.
Durable and quality garments
At Zd Zero Defects we focus on the pursuit of excellence. Therefore, the fabrics we implement are able to mimic the elasticity of human skin. Thanks to its polyamide over elastomer coating, the garments are highly resistant and durable, multiplying the life of the garment by a factor of 10. The opposite of the overcrowded and fast textile industry, which has led to the concept of “fast fashion”.
In addition, our fabrics and materials that are in constant contact with the skin are natural and breathable, with sustainable materials. Not only that, but our clothes are also seamless, thanks to our handmade seam opening system. Thanks to this system, our fabrics are soft and smooth, creating a feeling of comfort without losing the elasticity of the garment.
On the other hand, the garments we produce are studied and manufactured to maintain their qualities no matter how many washes they have, keeping impeccable despite the passage of time, avoiding its displacement or deformation.
As such, they are classic and elegant pieces of clothing that never go out of fashion.
Our objective has never been mass profit or relocation to third countries, but quite the opposite: to promote a quality product made at home with local human and economic capital.
